I’ve posted these pictures of Carson on Facebook, but I thought I’d post them here. I took these when she was about two weeks old and tried to capture her at that age. I think I was successful with it as she was stripped down, cold and probably had a poopy diaper, but she was a good baby and just let me put here in the poses I wanted and stayed sleeping.
She is a great baby. She is sweet, sleeps well and very tolerant of two (very) loud older brothers. She has a better wardrobe than I do already and she has brought us so much joy already.
Her brothers are loving having a sister. Hayden, who is four, is always kissing her and singing to her. He has to be around her all the time. He is so happy with a baby sister. He reacted much the same way when Brady arrived. He is a great big brother to them and I look forward to seeing him shine for years to come.
Brady, who turned two about two weeks before Carson arrived, loves her too. He is having a little harder time adjusting to the attention not being on him, but is wanting to hold her and even tries to pick her up (!). He has had a lot of changes recently he’s trying to process. Hayden started preschool a month before and with them being so close, he’s having a hard time understanding why he can’t go too. Now there is a new baby who is getting attention and when people talk to her, they use a voice he’s not use to hearing from adults. It’s high-pitched, filled with love and adoration. He is coming around as she tries to turn her head when he talks and is able to hold her and help more often.
We feel overwhelmed by the gift of this new baby.
