I’m going to get on my soap box again for a minute- maternity portraits are important! If you’ve spent any time on my social media, whether Instagram or Facebook, I’ve said this before. No matter how you feel, whether that be large, or uncomfortable or whatever- it IS important to have maternity portraits done. There will be a time where you will not be expecting and you’re self view won’t be so skewed. You’ll want to remember your time when you were expecting. You’ll want them, I promise!
Kerri came to me saying that she had not done maternity pictures with any of her other children. This could be her last child, so she wanted to be sure she captured it. I was thrilled! Kerri brought her son with her and he couldn’t be more excited about his little brother! It was so cute to be able to talk with him about potential middle names. We decided “Hawk” wasn’t perfect for his brothers middle name. I lobbied for it, but he thought it wouldn’t fit. Bummer. He talked about how excited he was and was one of the sweetest little boys ever!
During our session, we explored downtown Huntsville, which is my favorite. Just walking in a few block radius really gives you so many different backdrops! A maternity session will typically last around an hour. Each of my maternity sessions includes a $25 print credit. This is to help you actually print your portraits, not just keep the digitals forever on your hard drive!
If you’re expecting, I would highly encourage you to consider booking a maternity session along with your Fresh 48 and Newborn Lifestyle sessions. Adding on a maternity session doesn’t cost that much more and being able to look back at your body’s incredible ability to carry a child is priceless!!
