The weather has been fantastic for my fall sessions! It’s been warm and beautiful! I am getting out as much as possible just to enjoy it! This client is a repeat client, which I appreciate so much! I photographed their family at a local barn last year, click here to see that session. She’s also a celebrity as a DIY + home decor blogger at The Turquoise Home. Y’all her talents are endless. Girl can USE a nail gun like I use my debit card. I mean it’s amazing. The best part is, she’s really wonderful too!! I could gush all day, but I’ll show you some of the highlights from their fall session in downtown Huntsville!
I swear every session I’m going to take a mask family picture. I mean nothing commemorates 2020 like the MASK. Ha!

During the pandemic, the Ross family spent a lot of time walking, as we all did. Just to get out of the house and get a change of scenery. They enjoyed walking on the greenway in Huntsville as a family. When they reached out to me about a session, they knew they wanted hold their session at the greenway where they spent so much time walking. I love that they wanted to document the masks they wear! It’s such a crazy time! I really feel like the Ross family enjoyed the time together and enjoyed their walks together as a family. Here is a few of my favorites from this fun session!
Did you all notice Rosie their dog? Oh she was the SWEETEST THING! Bring all the dogs to the session, please! LOVE IT!

During all my newborns sessions, well all my sessions really, I try to make them relaxed and fun. This should not be a stressful process, particularly right after you’ve had a baby! Upon my arrival, the big brother opened the door and showed me a game he was playing. We then took the next few minutes playing together while his mom finished feeding the baby. It’s the little things like this that help set the tone for the session. I am not going to rush through the session. As I played, everyone was happy and I was just a playmate. It worked out wonderfully and produced genuine smiles.
With each newborn session I do lately with older babies, I feel like ALL my newborns should be around 2 months. Yes, I love some chunky babies, but really they’re so much more interactive than they are at the true newborn stage. The parents are rested and everyone has has a bit of time to adjust. Plus, give me ALL the baby smiles!!
Can we talk about the nursery theme for a minute? I mean a national park theme is so unique and they decorated it beautifully! I couldn’t get over their attention to detail. It’s flowed nicely with the rest of the home decor!
During my newborn lifestyle sessions, I try to photograph any older siblings in their rooms. It provides for a lifestyle portrait while preserving their lives at that moment. The family will look back and think, “I remember that blanket!” It’s sentimental without it being obvious.
Thanks to Teddy and his amazing family! I had such a nice time hanging out with y’all!

I really loved this session for so many reasons. I feel like capturing childhood and casual moments at home are just as important, if not more important, then a formal posed session around the holidays. Nah, both are equally important in their own respect. Ha!
I got a call from this client soon after the restrictions were lifted a bit. They had heard of the porch projects that many photographers were doing and they wanted to have a similar session. I was thrilled! This is such a fun and casual session, but so pretty! They have two adventurous boys who love to jump extremely high on their trampoline. It made me nervous, but they’ve got the coolest mom in the world. It takes a lot to get her worked up! That is why God gave her those boys and not me!
